Skyper, Frankfurt am Main

The Skyper project in Frankfurt am Main comprises three building sections: the Skyper Tower is famous well beyond Frankfurt’s city limits with its 154-metre high-rise tower, the refurbished historic Holzmann Villa and the 6-storey residential and commercial building with its row of shops.

The task assigned to the architects JSK Architekten for the construction of the Skyper Tower was clear: this must be a landmark high-rise building which also blends into existing developments and harmonises with the monument-listed buildings on site. The curved form of the Skyper Tower references the urban and architectural nature of the existing development on site. ABG Real Estate Group was instructed as general contractor by the end investor Deka Immobilien-Investment to continue to develop the site and manage the project. This involved, in particular, the requirements for upgraded building services, the specification to create a single-layer façade with opening windows and to use geothermal installations as the energy source to comply with sustainability requirements
