Hamburg, 22 April 2020 – ABG Real Estate Group has entered into a general contractor agreement for its ‘Deutschlandhaus’ project, located at Gänsemarkt in the heart of Hamburg’s city centre. ‘Arbeitsgemeinschaft Deutschlandhaus’ – a joint venture with the participation of ZECH Bau, ROM, ssm and Renke – will act as general contractor under the leadership of Zech Bau SE, branch office Bremen. The building construction will com-mence in September 2020; completion of the Deutschlandhaus property is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2022.

About the Deutschlandhaus project:
The new building will replace the historical Deutschlandhaus, built at the end of the 1920. With a gross floor space of approximately 40,000 square metres, the new Deutschlandhaus will offer just under 30,000 sqm of office space, around 4,000 sqm for retail and gastronomy at Valentinskamp square, plus around 30 flats with a total of 2,000 sqm. Two underground floors with just under 10,000 sqm will provide 164 parking spaces, amongst other facilities.
The award-winning design by Hadi Teherani Architects stands out with a brick facade in the style of traditional mercantile office buildings (Kontorhäuser), an atrium flooded with light, where a palm forest offers an oasis for relaxation.
ABG Real Estate Group acquired the 5,700 sqm plot in 2014, starting work on demolition, excavation and preparation of the pit in march 2019. This work is scheduled for completion by the end of August 2020, allowing structural construction to commence in September 2020.
