• Construction works on the building ensemble completed
• 16,000 sqm of rental space handed over to the Düsseldorf Adult Education Centre (VHS)
• Revitalised YORCKS becomes part of the city’s Knowledge Mile
Düsseldorf, 8 December 2025 – The ABG Real Estate Group has successfully completed the revitalisation of the YORCKS building complex in Düsseldorf and handed over the 16,000 sqm of space leased by the Düsseldorf Adult Education Centre (VHS) to its future user. The institution is now preparing for its relocation and will open the new premises in spring 2026.
“YORCKS demonstrates how high-quality transformation of an existing building can generate new impulses for use – in this case, for a central educational location within Düsseldorf’s Knowledge Mile,” says Ulrich Höller, Managing Partner of the ABG Real Estate Group.
Building Structure and Tenant Mix
YORCKS comprises a total of around 28,600 square metres of rental space. In addition to the VHS as anchor tenant, further users have committed to the location on a long-term basis. Fit X has extended its existing lease and expanded its space to a total of 3,140 sqm. Bio-Techne will occupy around 1,120 sqm, while AOK Rheinland/Hamburg will use approximately 440 sqm. In addition, Q-Park has taken over the operation of the roughly 400 parking spaces in the property’s multi-storey car park – which also includes 24 EV charging stations – under a 15-year agreement. Around 8,000 sqm remain available for potential tenants.
Revitalisation with a Sustainability Profile
The building has undergone comprehensive modernisation and has been adapted to current ESG requirements. Among other measures, the installation of a photovoltaic system reduces the property’s energy consumption by more than 50 percent, bringing it close to the benchmark for new builds. YORCKS has therefore received a DGNB pre-certification in Gold.
Located opposite the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences campus and in immediate proximity to the FOM University of Applied Sciences, YORCKS forms a key part of the city’s Knowledge Mile. The building complex, whose foundation stone was laid in 1992 and which served as HSBC Trinkaus’ headquarters for many years, was acquired by the ABG Real Estate Group in 2020.
