VIVAVEST creates new living space at Worringer Strasse in Düsseldorf

  • The property company acquires the urban quarter development of the joint venture partners BEMA and ABG Group for its own rental services.

Düsseldorf, 10. October 2018 – The large property company VIVAWEST headquartered in North Rhine-Westphalia secures the urban quarter development in the area Worringer Strasse / Gerresheimer Strasse with approximately 450 apartments. The building plot approximately 18,350 m² in size at the former company grounds of the Deutsche Bahn is the most southern plot of “Le Quartier Central” in Düsseldorf and extends the newly created urban flair of the quarter. According to Düsseldorf’s “Handlungskonzept Wohnen” (“action concept living”), around 20 percent of the apartments will be price bound, more specifically publicly subsidized.

High living quality due to integrated urban quarter development
The architects behind the development’s design are the internationally well-known KSP Jürgen Engel architects. The plans seek to develop six to eight storey apartment buildings with a shared underground parking garage with 220 parking spaces. The buildings will offer apartments with one or up to four rooms, while two to three room apartments will be most common. Furthermore, a nursery and a daycare center are being planned.

Marno Matthäs, BEMA Group’s managing partner, sees an increase of quality of life with the development of the urban quarter at Worringer Strasse: “We are a project development company that specializes in the sustainable, architecturally demanding realisation of urban quarters and building construction. In VIVAWEST we have found a reliable and competent partner with accounted expertise and who shares our aspiration of a holistic urban quarter development.” Angelika Remmert-Stuckmann, managing director of ABG Allgemeine Baubetreuungsgesellschaft adds, “Considering the current situation on the housing market in Germany, high quality urban quarter developments are more important than ever. For our project at Worringer Strasse, we have two strong partners in BEMA and VIVAWEST who share our high standards for project quality and sustainability. Therefore, I’m sure the development will be a success.”

Affordable housing enables sustainable city development
Thomas Geisel, first mayor of Düsseldorf, is pleased by the project partner’s cooperation: “The development of the new urban quarter by VIVAWEST is a benefit for Düsseldorf and helps in creating urgently needed and affordable living space.”

Claudia Goldenbeld, managing director of VIVAWEST, attaches great and increasing value to Düsseldorf’s location as well: “We are satisfied to continue together with our project partners BEMA Group and ABG Group the long lasting and good partnership with the City of Düsseldorf and contribute to the development of the city with this housing project. The new construction of rental apartments and the creation of living space are of great importance to us. In the coming years, we will further increase our investments in the Ruhr area as well as along the Rhine River and in the Münsterland. Between 2018 and 2022 we will create more than 5,000 new rental apartments in North Rhine-Westphalia.”

VIVAWEST is also very active in other areas of the state capital. The company currently develops the Schöffenhöfe quarters with 11 multi-dwelling houses and 370 apartments in the Oberbilk district. In Düsseldorf’s Benrath district the cornerstone for the project development “Mühlenquartier” with 364 rental apartments was laid lately. VIVAWEST will take them into management after the project is finished.
