- House building project in Munich meets highest sustainability standards
Munich, 19.03.2018 – The ABG Group has completed its “ParkCubes” house building project in Munich. At the end of February the company handed over the apartments to the buyers. It took 22 months to build the 63 privately owned apartments on the 3,700 m² site in the Schwabing district – 16 of them with so-called “Munich Model” funding. Additionally the complex offers underground parking for 63 vehicles.
“We are very pleased about the completion. We handed over all the apartments to the buyers on time and smoothly. The first residents have already moved in,” says Veit Oppermann, Managing Director of ABG Projektentwicklungsgesellschaft mbH.
The ABG Group bought the plot, on the site of the former Funk Barracks in Max-Bill-Strasse, from the City of Munich in 2015. The company developed a total of around 5,600 m² of living space on the site, close to the “Englischer Garten” and the city centre. The apartments, with between one and four rooms and ranging in size from 36 m² to 144 m², are spread across four blocks. The buildings, between four and six storeys high and designed by Grassinger Emrich Architects of Munich, fulfil the highest sustainability standards, complying with KfW40-Standard (EnEv 2009). Thanks to a photovoltaic system on sections of the roofs, the buildings also generate as much power as residents use. That means the “ParkCubes” achieve a level primary energy balance.
In addition to the completed “ParkCubes”, the ABG Group is currently developing other residential projects in Munich. The company’s “TruLiving” project is creating about 120 privately owned apartments in the Trudering district. Construction of the project in Wasserburger Landstrasse is expected to get under way at the beginning of the second quarter of 2018. ABG Group also acquired the former Osram site in Untergiesing district. Together with the Büschl Group, the company is planning a new neighbourhood, called “LivingIsar”, with apartments, child daycare facilities and commercial units on the approx. 32,000 m² plot.
