ABG Group and Felix Gädeke started Joint Venture to develop „Volt“ in Berlin

  • Architecural highlight is characterised by a “cracked” façade

Berlin, 22.03.2018. ABG Group and Felix Gädeke have started a Joint Venture and are now going forward together with developing the “Volt” project in Berlin. Today the project partners revealed the news. Prior to the co-operation, Gädeke’s former project partners backed out of the project. ABG and Gädeke are looking to develop an office building with approx. 31,000 m² gross floor area. The expressional architectural design by J. MAYER H. und Partner, Berlin, is characterised by a setback joint-storey. It traverses the façade like a “crack” and is being planned as a special zone with outside areas.

Around 6,550 m² in size, the plot of “Volt” is situated at Voltairestraße between Alexanderplatz and Spree River in the Berlin City Centre. Retail and catering spaces on the ground floor will accompany the building’s office space that can be flexibly split starting from 400 m². In addition 90 underground parking spaces guarantee room for private transport.

As a highlight, a setback joint-storey decorates the whole building at the height of the urban railway viaduct. However, in case of “Volt” this is more than optics. The joint-storey partly connects to the levels above and below it and offers future tenants a high quality of stay, thanks to its greening and the surrounding outside areas. Combined with its flexible office spaces, the building is especially suitable for start-ups, co-working spaces or corporate’s digital hubs. There are already many serious inquiries of possible tenants, the project partners state. ABG Group and Gädeke are planning to start the construction works end of 2018/beginning of 2019. Going from there, the completion could be possible for end of 2020.
