ABG Real Estate Group hands over space at “Yorcks Campus” to Düsseldorf Adult Education Center

Düsseldorf, April 21, 2026 – In spring-like weather, ABG Real Estate Group officially handed over the premises in the newly conceived and revitalized “Yorcks Campus” building complex to the Düsseldorf Adult Education Center (Volkshochschule Düsseldorf, VHS). In the presence of Mayor Dr. Stephan Keller, Ulrich Höller, Managing Partner of ABG Real Estate Group, Simone Bruns, Head of the VHS, and Miriam Koch, Deputy Mayor for Culture and Integration, along with other guests, the new location was formally opened. The ensemble is located in Düsseldorf’s Derendorf district, opposite the campus of Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, and is part of the city’s “knowledge mile.”

Covering approximately 16,000 sqm, the VHS will offer a wide range of educational programs in modern learning environments. A total of 58 seminar rooms equipped with digital media technology, as well as 27 specialized rooms for art and creativity, digital and media, music, sports, natural sciences, and a teaching kitchen have been created, each complemented by associated preparation areas. Two rooftop gardens with a total area of more than 1,500 sqm provide spaces for relaxation and communication.

Originally constructed in the early 1990s as a banking and insurance location, the building ensemble was acquired by ABG Real Estate Group in 2020 and, between 2023 and 2025, comprehensively reimagined as a campus and modernized in a sustainable manner. The measures included a complete gut renovation, full renewal of the building services engineering—including ventilation and heat pump systems—as well as refurbishment of the façade and sun-shading systems. In addition, the roof areas were renewed and insulated, a photovoltaic system was installed, and the building’s primary energy demand was reduced by more than 50 percent. The building has received DGNB pre-certification in “Gold.”

In addition to the Adult Education Center, the location is characterized by several established tenants, including the fitness provider FitX, the internationally active biotechnology company Bio-Techne, and AOK Rheinland, which operates a customer center on site. The ensemble is complemented by a large underground parking garage with around 400 parking spaces and EV charging infrastructure, managed by Park One. Additional rental spaces are currently under negotiation.
