ABG Group appoints Carsten Faust to management of construction support division

  • Construction engineer succeeds Angelika Remmert-Stuckmann

Munich/Cologne, 6 November 2018. The ABG Group has announced a change in the management of its construction support division. Carsten Faust, an experienced expert in the field, takes over as Managing Director of Munich-based ABG Allgemeine Baubetreuungsgesellschaft mbH. The 53-year-old from Düsseldorf succeeds the architectural engineer Angelika Remmert-Stuckmann, who retired from active professional life at the end of October. She will continue to support the company in an advisory role, however. The engineer Guido Weise continues to be part of the management team alongside Faust.

“We have gained an experienced colleague in Carsten Faust. He has repeatedly proved his expertise throughout his long career, and we are glad to have found such a well-qualified successor to Angelika Remmert-Stuckmann,” said ABG principal shareholder Dr Walter Wübben. “At the same time we are sorry to be losing such a valued colleague as Angelika Remmert-Stuckmann. In her 20 years with ABG she has successfully implemented numerous projects and been a decisive factor in the positive development of the company. We are extremely grateful to her and wish her all the best for her well-earned retirement,” he continued.

In future Faust and his 15-strong team, based in Cologne, will be primarily responsible for the technical implementation of ABG projects. In this capacity he will look after the branch offices in Frankfurt, Cologne and Munich. The responsibilities of the man from Düsseldorf include the H2 hotel on Toulouser Allee in Düsseldorf – a joint project with BEMA – as well as the LIVING ISAR neighbourhood development on the former Osram site in Munich.

Faust began his career with HOCHTIEF in Essen in 1991. Joining the company as a planning engineer, he progressed through several roles, finally rising to project manager. Faust, who has a degree in construction engineering, then moved in 2003 to become General Manager of mfi AG in Essen (today mfi Development GmbH, Düsseldorf). For over 14 years he was responsible there for implementing the construction of various new shopping centres and neighbourhood developments, from getting planning permission to completion and handover – most recently the development of Southern Überseequartier in Hamburg.
