JAPAN CENTER, Frankfurt am Main

The Japan Center is located at Taunustor in the heart of Frankfurt’s banking district and is considered one of the most architecturally distinctive high-rise buildings in the city center. The building was developed between 1993 and 1996.

Its design draws on traditional Japanese design principles in both its proportions and façade articulation. A strict square grid defines the structure of the building as well as the organization of the façade. The natural stone façade in a warm tone, together with the striking cantilevered roof, gives the tower its unmistakable silhouette.

At approximately 115 meters in height and with 27 upper floors, the building is an integral part of the Frankfurt skyline. In addition to office space, the property also includes complementary dining and restaurant uses at the base of the building.
