Sustainable and urbanly connected: The Green Campus in Cologne is not only the link between the districts of Ehrenfeld and Lindenthal, but also a neighborhood development aimed at enhancing quality of life and modern office environments - all held to the highest standards.

The previously fully developed and thus sealed off area is being transformed into a sustainable campus through urban city planning. Short distances and a mix that ensures a high quality of stay create a new meeting place as a model for the future. On the 1.4-hectare plot of land, an office campus consisting of three freestanding and terraced buildings is being created. These are connected by innovative pathways, green spaces, play and action areas, as well as additional places to stay, forming the entirety of the Green Campus.

Upon completion, there will be, in the true spirit of a campus, mixed-use areas alongside modern office spaces on the ground floors. Shops, gastronomy, and cultural locations such as studios or galleries will attract both Green Campus users and the neighborhood to the ground floor zones.

For the implementation, a sustainable and climate-resilient construction method is aimed for, with building structures that are as robust as they are flexible, ensuring longevity. Quality architecture, location enhancement, and sustainability harmonize with each other in the Green Campus. The project aims to adhere to ESG criteria and taxonomy requirements, and seeks a DGNB Platinum certification. The green roofs with recreational areas are designed with biodiversity in mind and also feature photovoltaic systems. The mobility concept includes a Mobility Hub in the underground garage, bicycle parking spaces, E-charging stations, and an integration of cyclists and pedestrians with a convincing pathway concept. The Green Campus is very well connected to public transport, with stops at Melatengürtel and Oskar-Jäger-Straße.

The development rights are based on a resolution for a new zoning plan adopted in November 2023. Currently, the property is still occupied by the existing halls of a former car dealership and is already being enhanced during the planning phase through a cultural interim use.
