The development of the Ericusspitze as the eastern gateway to Hamburg’s HafenCity district, an important location in terms of urban planning, was a significant architectural challenge. The new headquarters of the Spiegel publishing group is a striking landmark building designed by Danish architect Henning Larsen. Dominant in terms of its sheer size and airily transparent thanks to its glazed façade, the Spiegel-Verlagshaus represents the most highly discerning architecture and offers a high degree of space efficiency.
